CROSSROADS, Alabama — About 75 children were combing a Crossroad’s pasture Saturday looking for hidden treasure during the Tensaw River Bream Club’s annual Easter Egg hunt.

Group spokesman Henry Coxwell said $156 was given away as prizes and baskets were purchased for participants.

“We ended up with 400 real eggs and 1,400 candy- and coin-filled plastic eggs,” Coxwell said. A turkey shoot followed the Easter activity.

Proceeds will go to the group’s Christmas fund for needy area families. The amount generated was not immediately available. For more information, contact Coxwell at henrycoxwell@att.net.
