Nellie Lamberth Brown, 96, was born in Bay Minette Sept. 24, 1917, and passed away March 24, 2014 at Camden Nursing Facility.
A resident of Jackson, Mrs. Brown was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, the Women’s Missionary Union and Senior Adult Choir.
Her husband, Gross Chapman Brown, preceded Mrs. Brown in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Delores (Raymond) Zakary, Gail (Robert) O’Guynn, Ann (Lamar) Reid, all of Jackson, and Mary Nell (Ron) Shiflet of Bloomington, Ind.; grandchildren, Ray Zakary, Allison Cleveland, Elizabeth Lawrence, Marlin O’Guynn, Clint O’Guynn, Amy O. Hayes, Brad O’Guynn, Jim Reid and Darren Reid; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Viola Chismar of Maryland.
Visitation is Thursday, March 27, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11, at First Baptist Church of Jackson. The Rev. Ben Stubblefield will officiate.
Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery in Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Brown’s grandsons, Ray Zakary, Marlin O’Guynn, Clint O’Guynn, Jim Reid, Darren Reid and Brad O’Guynn.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to First Baptist Church in Jackson, Southern Care Hospice or a charity of your choice.
