Irmalee V. Nelson, 82, a native of Atlanta and a longtime resident of the Fairhope area, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at a local healthcare center.
She had worked as a bookkeeper at the Grand Hotel for 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Durward F. Nelson of the Barnwell community.
Survivors include a brother, Walter D. (Virginia) Venable Jr. of Fairhope; nephew, Walter D. (Juilette) Venable III of Fairhope; niece, Kathy V. (Michael) Langley of Grand Bay; grand nephews, Micah Machefsky, Camp Pendleton, Calif., Walter Venable IV and Christian Venable of Fairhope; grand nieces, Mariah Machefsky and Laila Venable of Fairhope.
Visitation was held Wednesday, May 12 at Hughes Cremation & Funeral Service. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 13 at Brook-Cedron Cemetery, Barnwell, with the Rev. David Machefsky officiating.
