Nelson Curtis Richardson, 87, a native of Lexington, Ky. and resident of Foley, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 19, 2015.
Nelson was a WWII Navy veteran. He was honored in 2013 with a trip to Washington, D.C. along with other veterans where they visited the National WWII Memorial.
Nelson is survived by his wife of 68 years, Spicie E. Richardson. He was the father of four children, Nina Richardson Klingbiel (deceased), Mildred Richardson Miller, William C. Richardson (deceased) and James E. Richardson; five grandchildren, James E. Richardson II, Joseph C. Miller, Kayla J. Wright, John W. Morris and Kimberly A. Morris; and five great-grandchildren, Michael, Dakota, Aden, Sean and Addison.
Nelson was an active member of New Life in Christ Church in Foley.
He was a good father, husband, friend and servant of God.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley.
The visitation is from noon until time of the service.
Interment with full military honors will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park.
