FOLEY, Ala. — On Friday, March 23, new local author Travis Smith will be at the Foley Library to sign copies of his new book, "The Garbage Men," from 3 p.m.-4 p.m. and give a short book talk from 4 p.m.-5 p.m.
This thriller is set in a small Alabama town beset with forces of evil as compelling as they are mysterious. Smith was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, but moved to Maine in 2008 to attend the University of New England for a degree in medical biology. Currently applying to medical schools and pursuing a career in medicine, he enjoys writing ironic, subversive poetry and thriller fiction.
“The Garbage Men” is Smith’s first publication, on which he began working at the age of 13, and he is currently beginning work on the first book of a four-part adventure saga.
