The Orange Beach Art Center’s final Special Exhibit of 2011, “Pleased to Meet You…” will highlight the work of new member artists.

The exhibit will hang from November 17- January 14. OBAC has more than 100 member artists who are the backbone to the art center’s exhibit space. These artists change their work out quarterly keeping the art center’s exhibit fresh. Member artists are juried in and are predominately from the island but many are from Eastern Shore to Pensacola as well as part time residents from the Southeast and ‘snowbirds’ from as far away as Vermont.

This is a wonderful opportunity for member artists to meet or reconnect with each other and for the community to show their support for our artists. New member artists include: Shellie Reese, Barbara Curtis, Kathy Ferro and Kristin Rush of Gulf Shores; Tommy Cannon, LouAnn Schell, Renata Hornackova and Gary Wickham from Orange Beach; Pensacola’s Margaret Bean; Dino Kotopoulis, Becky Majors, Mary Streu, Emily Revere and Bob Trammell from Fairhope; Jane Blevins from Decatur, AL; Bonnie Gravette from Memphis, TN; Karen Dixon of Birmingham; Charlie Henson of Decatur, GA; Donna Davis from Madison, MS; Sharon Hawkins from Foley; Jan Sanders of Lillian, AL and Dianne Murray from Robertsdale.

The Visiting Artists and Special Exhibits series is sponsored by Friends of the Arts with additional sponsorships from Moe’s Barbeque and The Hangout.
