Richard Gray Newhart, 48, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 at a Mobile Hospital.
He was a native of Norfolk, Va.; a resident of Perdido since 2004; a veteran of Desert Storm; served on the USS America; and attended Antioch Springs of Life Church.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Newhart of Perdido; two sons, Jonathan Newhart of Houston, asnd Patrick Schmidt of Warner Robbins, Ga.; two daughters, Nicole Newhart of College Station, Texas, and Staci Schmidt of Perdido; his father, Richard Gray Marshall of Virginia Beach, Va.; his mother, Earlene Newhart of Virginia Beach, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 7 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Eula Price and Wanda Hadley officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Roger Hadley, Patrick Schmidt, Christopher Schmidt, Jerry Lyman and Roger Martin.
Arrangements were made by Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home, Atmore.
