BAY MINETTE, Ala. — The Balcoala Yearbook Staff is selling Honey-baked hams and turkeys from the HoneyBaked Ham Co. for Christmas. A percentage of the proceeds will help fund the expenses for the Balcoala Yearbook. You may purchase a mini ham (serves 6-8) for $32.95, an 8-pound ham (serves 10-12) for $46.95, and a

9-pound ham (serves 14-16) for $51.95. The turkeys are also honey-baked glazed and are $19.99. They serve 6-8 people.

You may also purchase gift certificates that can be used at any HoneyBaked Ham Co. store or for online orders. The gift certificates come in these prices: $10, $25, $35, and $50. We also have side orders: broccoli rice casserole, sweet potato soufflé, green bean casserole, garlic mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. Side combos include: two large sides for $12.99, one large side and small creamy cheesecake or pecan pie for $12.99, or one large side and a carrot cake or small cheesecake sampler for $18.99.

The National Anthem Choir meets on Tuesday mornings at 7 a.m. in the BCHS Choir room. It is open to anyone who would like to come and listen and join the fun!

Key CLub will be collecting Coke tabs for the Ronald McDonald house throughout the year. Last year, they received over $7,000 from recycled coke tabs. Bring you tabs by Mrs. Owen’s or Mrs. Miller's room. 

Baldwin County High School is offering a basketball T-shirt sale. All shirts are $15. The front design has a tiger with the “Baldwin County High Tiger Basketball”. The back design has the quote, “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.” –Michael Jordan. If you are interested in buying a t-shirt then please contact Mrs. Simon or any of the basket ball players.

All seniors need to make sure to check their email for scholarship opportunities. Mrs. Warfield is sending emails to all the available addresses for any scholarships that she may receive. If you do not have email access, check the counselors’ office for any financial aid that you are eligible for. 

The yearbook staff is accepting pictures that students or parents would like to be in the yearbook. They can be from summer activities, dances, sports, club activities, or just hanging out with your friends.

There is not a guarantee that every picture submitted will be placed in the 2008 yearbook. If you need more information, contact Mrs. Clark.

Teachers, administrators, the faculty, and students all over Baldwin County High School are not only excited about the holidays, but what the new year will bring as well.  

"I never realized how valuable school really was until this year,” said freshman Jessica Wiggins. “The holiday break will be great for my mind to 'recharge' and be ready for when I get back in January. I cannot believe half of this school year is already up!"

Principal Johnny Cabaniss is very excited for what the new year will bring,

"We have come a long way from the beginning of the year. With every day increasing for the better, I cannot wait to witness what we will accomplish throughout the new year." Mr. Cabaniss also announces, "I would like to wish all the students of Baldwin County High School a Merry Christmas and safe time over the Holidays. I hope for you all to have a magnificent new year! The new year may not bring the upmost joy into all of your classes, but students you need to remember that if you try hard enough you will succeed. See you in January!"

Senior Hayse Brock is counting his days until graduation. "This semester has been unforgettable. I cannot believe that graduation is around the corner, however, I am ready to get it over with! I hope everyone has a good time over the holidays and I hope to see them back in 2008! Go Seniors!"

School will be out from Dec. 19 to Jan. 7.
