FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Everyone has dreams. While some dream of being the star of the basketball team or science decathlon, others hope to be the lead in the school musical.

What happens when someone wants to do more than one thing? In Disney’s “High School Musical Jr.,” a group of teenagers struggle to discover their true identities while building relationships, exploring new interests and dealing with others’ expectations.

The “High School Musical” phenomenon began with a dream of creating a contemporary but old-fashioned musical about high school, influenced by classic musicals such as “West Side Story” and “Grease.”

Newton School “High School Musical Jr.” performances will be at 6 p.m. (dress rehearsal/performance) on March 15, and 1 and 6 p.m. March 16.

The show will last around one and a half hours.

Limited tickets are on pre-sale March 8-12 at $5 for adults per show and $3 for students per show (exception: student tickets purchased for the day show will include admission for both the Tuesday day and evening shows).

After March 12, ticket prices go up to $6 and $4 respectively.

Doors will open at 5, and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
