No more tax increases, health care boondoggles

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — Can we really handle four more years of this administration? If past performance can be used as a guide for the future then the answer is a resounding no.

The unemployment rate for this country is hovering around 8 percent.  That only includes Americans who are actively looking for work. It does not cover the large number of people who have just given up trying. President Obama has pushed for tax increases on the job creators in this nation.

It’s a basic economic concept, if you punish people that create jobs in America by raising taxes, they will simply move those companies elsewhere. When the companies leave, they take the jobs with them. President Obama believes that we can tax our way out of recession; that if only the government were to receive more money from the people, then everything would be OK.

He has set up a government that spends money for czars and staff that attempt to regulate issues.

The President is attempting to play politics, rather than take on the issues this country is facing. As an example, he created a jobs panel to address the issue of unemployment. That panel has not met in over 10 months.

It makes a good sound bite, but as my grandfather would say, “He’s all sizzle, no steak.”

The only thing both political parties in Washington can agree on is that the President’s plan for spending is out of control. The budget was voted down 0-99 in the Senate and 0-414 in the House of Representatives. It has been over 1,250 days since the last budget has been passed. Can you imagine what would happen in your household if you didn’t have a budget for over three years? I know in my house that would lead to financial ruin.

The United States has a $16 trillion national debt. Apparently just ignoring your finances has the same effect on a much larger scale. When President Obama came into office the national debt was $10 trillion. He campaigned on cutting the deficit in half.  Instead of cutting $5 trillion, he added $6 trillion.  He is responsible for the single largest tax increase in American history with Obamacare — attempting to make sure the health care industry has the efficiency of the post office with the friendliness of the Department of Motor Vehicles.

I personally want my doctor to make decisions based on what is the best treatment for the issue, not based on what is most cost effective as determined by a panel of unelected individuals.

In February 2009, one month after taking office, President Obama told Matt Lauer of the Today Show on NBC that if he didn’t have the economy fixed in three years, his presidency would be a “one-term proposition.”

For the sake of the future of this country, I hope for once that he is right. On November 6, 2012 I am voting for Mitt Romney for President and I ask you to do the same.
