Miriam Gerdom Norden, 85, a native of Aberdeen, Md., and resident of Silverhill, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at a local hospital.
She had just celebrated her 63rd wedding anniversary. She was a clerk at a Shoe Company in Maryland and during World War II, she was secretary at the Aberdeen Proving Ground.
She married and moved to Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church and loved serving the Lord, helping with child evangelism, sewing and pompano fishing in the Gulf.
Survivors include her husband, Harry V. Norden of Silverhill; three sons, Alan Norden of Silverhill, Steve Norden of Orlando, Fla., and Randy Norden of Crestview, Fla.; daughter, Karen Norden Mayhue of Silverhill; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
