Norman Portis Havens Jr. age 91, a native of Fontainebleau, Miss., and a long time resident of Daphne, passed this life Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 after a brief illness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman P. Havens Sr. and Elizabeth Bragg Havens and his brother, William R. Havens. Mr. Havens retired from the L&N/CSX railroad with more than 40 years of service. His duties included being chief rate clerk and purchasing/inventory officer. He is survived by his sweet wife of 64 years, Lois Golden Havens of Daphne; one son, Stephen J. Havens of Cartersville, Ga; one daughter, Diane Havens-Owens of Mobile; and other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 from 10-11 a.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Graveside services will be held on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at Noon at Silverhill Cemetery.
