Vance Anthony Norris, 51, a native of Mobile and a resident of Spanish Fort, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009 in Morristown, N.J.
He was dedicated to his work and family. He was the owner/operator of AVS, Building Automation Systems. He was on the Board of Directors of the Freedom Foundation.
He was a tireless worker, working with substance abuse programs all along the Gulf Coast. Many people were influenced by his assitance and compassion. He will be missed by all he helped and all those that knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Norris of Spanish Fort; four sons, Scott Norris of Mobile, Todd Norris of Hazel Green, Johnathan Becton and Danny Becton, both of Spanish Fort; two daughters, Nikki Brant of Keller, Texas, and Melissa Becton of Quitman, Miss.; his mother, Ruth Norris (Ron) Nolan of Mobile; father, Durell (Marie) Norris of Daphne; brother, Stanley (Terry) Norris of Mobile; and three grandchildren, Gavin Norris of Dothan, Nicholas and Tyler Brant of Keller, Texas.
Visitation will be fropm 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens in Daphne.
