BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is seeking applications for a new executive director, following the abrupt resignation Tuesday of Margo Allen.
Allen has served as executive director for five years and will remain until a replacement is in place, according to a chamber email.
Allen and the chamber office staff did not return phone calls Tuesday or Wednesday. Ormand Thompson, a board member, she he “appreciated what she has done” during her term, but declined further comment.
Board member Carla Sue Bell said the board was “sad to see Margo move on,” in an email. “I know our organization is stronger due to her hard work and expertise."
Bell later said, “It is the board's policy to communicate through only board-approved press releases. I have no other statement.”
According to a prepared chamber release, “Ms. Allen has served the chamber for five years and has been instrumental in advancing the chamber’s goals of business, education and economic development.”
