BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will hold a “meet the candidates” event at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center on Aug. 16 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Candidates will be on hand to answer questions and concerns about the city or their district. There will also be an opportunity at this event to register to vote.
Election day in Bay Minette is Aug. 28. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Voters will cast their votes for their districts council member and mayor of Bay Minette. Districts 1, 2, 3 and 5 will vote at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center at 301 D’Olive Street, and District 4 at the Douglasville Community Center on Hurricane Road.
Voter registration is available at the Baldwin County Board of Registrars office at 119 West Second street. Call 251-937-0305 for more information. The last day to register before the election is Aug. 17.
For more information on submitting an absentee ballot, voters can call Rita Findley, City Clerk, at 251-580-1637, or contact by email at rfindley@ci.bay-minette.al.us. More information on absentee voting is available on the city website, cityofbayminette.org. If a run-off election is necessary it will be held Oct. 9. Newly elected officials will take office on Nov. 5.
