Campers taking part in the “Art for the Fun of It” week-long camp created a variety of masterpieces under the direction of local artists Judy Pimperl and Debbie McMickle, who organized the projects, and Jo Vickrey and Ricky Trione. The camp was sponsored by the North Baldwin Coalition for Excellence in Education as part of its summer enrichment series. Brandi Parker, left, and Sarah Haskew cut out fabric pieces to use for an art project to design a stick figure art piece. Guest artist Ricky Trione chats with Courtney Lewis as she works to fill in the puff paint crab design he had drawn.
Joining Trione here are members of the morning camp session, which targeted students in kindergarten through third grades. The afternoon session was for fourth through sixth grades. Campers included, in no particular order, Max Padgett, Carlie Plemons, Devyn Bailey, Connor Bailey, Grace Reynolds, Brady Powell, Emily Scarborough, Scottla Williams, Scottlia Williams, Ally Wilson, Bo Wills, Eli Aaron, Wimberly Helms, Cayden Griffith, Mary Emma Brooks, Haley Wicker, Mary Claire Miller, Luke Aplin, Langston Lewis, Hannah Brooks, Isabella Clark, Addison Scarborough and, not pictured, Cade McDill, Brodie Chambless, Gage Chambless, Curtiss Peppers, and Callie Padgett.
