The North Baldwin Infirmary Wellness Center on Saturday will host the annual Christmas Fest 5K Fun Run/Walk.

The 5K run will start at 8 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run will begin at 9 a.m.

Runners will follow the route from last year: beginning and ending at the Kids’ Park.

The race will start at the Kids’ park and go east on Third Street to Hand Avenue. The route will continue north to West Almyra, where runners will head west to Armstrong Avenue.

From there, the route goes south to reach 14th Street and then west to McMillan Avenue. The route stays south on McMillan Avenue for the rest of the race, finishing at Third Street.

The 1-mile run will start on Third Street. The route will go north on Hall Avenue and then turn west onto 14th Street. Participants will finish by heading south on McMillan Avenue to Kids’ Park.

Several awards will be given to different age groups and an overall award will be given to the top male and female winners.

The school with the most participants will also receive a monetary award of $150, according to NBIWC exercise Physiologist Michelle Meinhardt.

The registration fee is $20. Proceeds will benefit the NBI Foundation to help provide health care, according to Meinhardt.
