North beats South 23-13 in Senior Bowl (with Video highlights)

MOBILE, Alabama — Quarterbacks Curt Cousins and Russell Wilson had touchdown passes and Carson Wiggs made three field goals as the North beat the South 23-13 in the Senior Bowl in front of a sellout crowd Saturday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

The North's Isaiah Pead, a former Cincinnati running back, was named MVP after accounting for 129 all-purpose yards. The Big East Offensive Player of the Year set a Senior Bowl record for punt return yards with 98. He was also the game's leading rusher with eight carries for 31 yards.

"I got everything I wanted to get out of this week," Pead said. "Practice was good and I helped get a win in the game."

Utah State linebacker Bobby Wagner recorded seven tackles, an interception and a pass breakup in winning the Most Outstanding Player award for the North. Former Arkansas wide receiver Joe Adams won the South's Most Outstanding Player honors, catching eight passes for 133 yards.

Cousins finished 5-of-11 for 115 yards and a touchdown, Wilson was 4-of-7 for 45 yards and a score and Boise State's Kellen Moore was 6-of-12 for 50 yards in the win for the North. Gerell Robinson and Marvin Jones had touchdown catches for the winning side.

Former Arizona quarterback Nick Foles had the best statistical passing day, completing 11-of-15 passes for 136 yards and a touchdown for the South. San Diego State's Ryan Lindley finished 10-of-21 for 103 yards and an interception, and Oklahoma State's Brandon Weeden was 5-of-9 for 56 yards and a pick for the South. Foles connected with former Arizona teammate Juron Criner for the South's only touchdown.

Wagner, Jamell Fleming and JM Johnson had interceptions for the North, and Casey Howard and Brandon Taylor had picks for the South. Vinny Curry led the North with two sacks, while Quinton Coples, Nigel Bradham and Courtney Upshaw had sacks for the South.
