Nov. 1 football finals: Baldwin Blowout

Posted

Robertsdale, Ala. – On what turned out to be a crisp fall weather evening following a rainy front passing through the region all day, every Baldwin County team was crisp as could be on the field. Each team played out-of-county competition on this final weekend of regular season AHSAA football play.

The only score spoiling the Baldwin sweep on the night was a heartbreaking one-point loss by Foley, against Theodore.

After jumping out to an early 21 point lead by halftime, the Gulf Shores Dolphins cruised to a 42-13 win over Citronelle. The 'Phins head into postseason play on a confident note.

Fairhope edged Andalusia 33-25, in a tense back-and-forth contest. The Pirates are now 8-2 going into the 6A playoffs, facing off next week against Pelham.

Bayside took out Satsuma 55-28 for a happy homecoming in Daphne.

6A Region champs Daphne deserve cred. Recall that heartbreaking 1st game loss with the end-of-time errant short field goal vs. big bully on the block Spanish Fort. The Trojans rolled again tonight over AB.

Here's the full final-week slate of scores to end regular season play

Fairhope 19- Andalusia 12

Daphne 38 - Alma Bryant 12

Theodore 27 - Foley 26

Robertsdale 50 - Faith Academy 43

Gulf Shores 42 - Citronelle 13

Bayside 55 - Satsuma 28

(Undefeated and twice-defending 5A state champs Spanish Fort rolled up another runaway against Mobile Christian Thursday night to finish off a perfect 10-0 regular season.)
