OATH fund-raiser set for Oct. 27

DAPHNE, Ala. — Grace Bible Church invites the community to attend its third annual OATH fund-raiser on Oct. 27, at 6:30 p.m.

Through a dessert buffet and adoption testimonies, Orphans Awaiting Their Homes (OATH), will again raise funds for orphanages and those needing financial assistance with their adoptions. Motivational speaker will be Pat Lee, adoptive mother and founder of Children of the World in Fairhope.

Two adoptive families, Dave and Denise Quinley and Andrew and Lou Lynn, will be sharing their stories of adopting their babies from Guatemala. Eileen Kreek will share her son’s reunion with his aunt in Guatemala 14 years after his adoption.

Chris and Natalie Lewis of Stapleton, parents to three children, ages 5, 4 and 3, plan to give an update in the adoption process of their five children, ages 1 to 14, in Haiti.

Natalie Lewis is the stateside coordinator for Grace Children Adoption Home.

Grace Bible Church began the OATH outreach ministry in 2002, after the Lippincott family brought their daughter, Estania, then 7, home from Haiti. Their son, Trevor, 14, was adopted domestically at birth, while Christfel, 4, was adopted from Haiti in 2006. Their daughter, Trisha LaCoste, adopted a baby, Jayden, in 2006.

The purpose of OATH is to educate and inform, to share orphans’ needs and to encourage and assist families financially and spiritually. Through the help of OATH, children have been adopted from China, Ukraine, Haiti, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Liberia and the U.S., and have found families in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Alabama, Michigan, Wisconsin, Colorado, Indiana, Virginia and California.

OATH supports God’s Littlest Angels, In the Father’s Hand Orphanage, Ancheri Care, a physical therapy ministry in Haiti, and Acres of Hope in Liberia.

There is no charge for the buffet. Grace Bible Church is located in Fairhope at 8774 Fairhope Avenue. For more information, contact Cindy Lippincott, (251) 945-5216.
