ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — The Artist's Reception for Joe Hobbs’ new exhibit, Sinners and Saints, opened Thursday evening at the Orange Beach Art Center.
This exhibit represents the premiere showing of Hobbs’ paintings.
An unusual exhibit for the OBAC, Hobbs’ work was received with enthusiasm.
Guests milled about discussing the meaning of the works.
“This exhibit strikes a different chord than most and you can see that it is a welcomed change,” commented Pat Martin, member of Friends of the Arts.
Not simply an ordinary Artist’s Reception, attendees were treated to a glass demonstration where Hobbs sculpted an elegant hand with the help of a blowtorch and some rocking tunes.
Tracy Holiday commented, “I lived in Seattle, I’ve seen glass blowing. This is really amazing.”
Indeed the group was captivated by the process.
Hobbs’ work will be on exhibit through Oct 14.
