Gulf Shores, Alabama--Perdido Beach Resort will host the educational field trip program of Ocean Camp for summer sessions.  The program is for children ages 5-12 years of age. The resort, located at 27200 Perdido Beach Boulevard just west of the Perdido Bridge in Orange Beach, Alabama, will serve as a first-time venue of the popular marine youth camp.

Ocean Camp is a certified marine/environmental education program. Children ages 13-16 are invited to participate as Counselors-in-Training at half normal camp fee. Ocean Camp curriculum is designed using Ocean Literacy principles to guide learning through hands-on activities, inquiry, research, problem-solving and critical-thinking. 

“We are excited to offer summer camps in such an ideal location,” Belinda Ringpfeil, Ocean Camp Director/Educator adds.  “Along with science related activities on the beach, each camp week will give the opportunity to ‘Discover Scuba or Snorkeling’ one day in the pool at a nominal fee.”   Down Under Dive Shop in Gulf Shores will provide instruction and equipment.  The Down Under management team were the lead divers on the recent safety dive to "clear" the new LuLu scuba shipwreck attraction, and the first to send back word to the top that the vessel is "sitting upright and pretty".

Perdido Beach Resort invites the aquatic campers, and their resort guests, to join Ocean Camp in this beautiful coastal environment on the Gulf of Mexico.  As goes the Ocean Camp slogan, "Ideal fun for ocean lovers and future scientists!"
