GULF SHORES, AL - The Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Association’s Fat Tuesday Parade is set to roll as scheduled at 10 a.m. While rain remains a possibility for Fat Tuesday, officials say only severe weather will cause the cancellation of the parade.

The City of Gulf Shores would like to make all residents and visitors aware of the following traffic flow modifications related to the parade.

9 a.m.

• East 20th Avenue will be closed to all traffic between West First Street and Highway 59 to allow for the lineup of parade entries. All parade entries are encouraged to travel east on East 20th Avenue to East Second Street and under the ICW bridge via 22nd Avenue to access parade lineup.

NOTE: 24th Avenue will be closed for roadway reconstruction

9:45 a.m.

• All entrances to Highway 59 between Clubhouse Drive and Highway 182 will be closed to all traffic until the completion of the parade.

12 p.m.

• All normal traffic conditions will resume along Highway 59.

If severe weather moves in and the parade is canceled, there will be no make-up date.
