GULF SHORES, Ala. - On a foggy Wednesday morning, the Ohio Snowbirds met for the third breakfast at LuLu’s with 131 in attendance, including 15 new members. Our total club membership now stands at 170 members.

The meeting opened with Don Thrash offering the blessing followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by President Bob Hofacker.

Our wonderful entertainment, Phil and Carol Carlo, was introduced by Vice President Sue Ellen Carpenter. Phil sang many Johnny Cash songs, along with a song he wrote for friends, Don and Marilyn Thrash and a song to his wife. They closed the program with a beautiful song, “God Bless You, Go With God”. Thanks Phil and Carol!

Bob Hofacker and Sue Ellen Carpenter will continue on as President and Vice President for the next two years. We will need someone to take on the roll of Membership Chairperson to relieve Treasurer Gayle Hofacker of that extra position.

Doug Palmer and Cindy Sinn thanked the volunteers who helped at the Bratfest Carry Out. Cindy will have final figures at the next meeting. Doug reminded everyone of the Pancake Breakfast.

Hofacker said there were still some tickets left for the Low Country Boil to be held on Friday, Feb. 22 at the Zoo, and will be on sale after the meeting.

Activities chairperson, Carolyn Rooks has about 60 people going to “Branson on the Road” lunch and show this Saturday. We also had 60-plus people who enjoyed the food and playing Bunko at the Pot Luck and Game Day held at the Caribe on Jan. 30.

Door prizes were then distributed by Paul Alanko, Bob Hofacker, Tony Distl, Doug Palmer and Jerry Vetter. The Ohio Club would like to thank all the businesses who have donated prizes to us this season.

BREAKFAST RESERVATIONS ARE DUE SUNDAY BEFORE BY CALLING DICK HABERSTROH AT 513-702-0639.
