ORANGE BEACH, AL - On Dec. 18 at approximately 12:35 a.m. Orange Beach Police responded to Ono Island to the report of a vehicle driven through the security gate and causing damage.
Security located the vehicle on Ono Island damaged and unoccupied in the 29000 block of Ono Boulevard. Officers on the scene discovered the vehicle, a 2005 Saturn Ion, had been reported stolen to the Summerdale Police several days prior.
While investigating the stolen vehicle, police received another call on Ono Island reporting a burglary. A homeowner awoke to find a male subject in their residence.
The homeowner confronted the individual, Michael Bradford Kendall 31 of Lillian, and a scuffle ensued. During the scuffle, the homeowner received cuts and abrasions. Kendall also received injuries.
Orange Beach fire medics on scene sent both individuals to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. Both were treated and released.
Currently, Kendall is facing charges related to the stolen vehicle, burglary and assault as well as misdemeanor drug charges.
It was also determined that a female, Brandy Elizabeth Stewart 35 of Gulf Shores, may have been involved with the vehicle. Officers on the scene contacted Stewart and she was arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant held by Orange Beach Police.
The case remains under investigation by the Orange Beach Police Department and additional charges may be forthcoming.
