Op't Holt-Duplantis

Elisabeth Linda Op’t Holt and Joshua Paul Duplantis were united in marriage Aug. 8, 2009 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne.

The Rev. Thack Dyson, St. Paul’s rector, officiated at the ceremony, assisted by the Rev. Lester Thomas, grandfather of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Timothy Op’t Holt of Daphne. She was a graduate of Daphne High School and earned a B.S. from Auburn University College of Agriculture and was awarded the DVM from the College of Veterinary Medicine. After an internship in Louisiana, she is practicing at veterinary hospitals in the Hattiesburg area.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Plaisance of Raceland, La., and Mr. and Mrs. John Duplantis of Houma, La. He was a graduate of Raceland High School, and holds a B.S. from the College of Agriculture at Louisiana State University, and an M.Ed. from the College of Education at Auburn University. He is the manager of Community Service Learning and a Ph.D candidate at the University of Southern Mississippi.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Tim Op’t Holt.

Kathleen McNamara of Jackson Miss., cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Katie Goodwin of Nashville, Tenn., Crystal Sizemore of Foley, Rebecca Bearden of Plantersville, Jill Yates of Pearl River, La., and Emily Hensgens of Mobile.

Johnny Bryant of Thibodaux, La., served as best man. Groomsmen were Shane Boudreaux of Franklin, La., Jason Douglas of Raceland, La., Avery Sharp of St. Gabriel, La., Payton Monteleone of Covington, La., and William Hurd, of Spanish Fort.

Flower girls were Heidi and Randi Plaisiance.

Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Paul Anderson and violinist Vernon Head. Readers were the Rev. Knox Baird and the Rev. Curt Moore of Hattiesburg.

Ushers were Edison Plaisance, Kelly Lebeouf, and Dennis Price.

A reception at the St. Paul’s Life Center followed the ceremony.

After a wedding trip to Marco Island, Fla., the couple resides in Hattiesburg.
