LILLIAN, Ala. -- Wager’s Pond in Lillian makes a repeat performance as the site of the Optimist Club of Perdido Bay 20th Annual Fishing Rodeo. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 14 for boys and girls aged two to 15.
The event is free with a free lunch for the whole family from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Prizes will be given in several age categories in the Fishing and Casting contests. Door prizes will also be available.
Participants should bring bait and fishing poles. No minnows are allowed. A limited amount of bait and poles will be available. The Optimist Club recommends “catch and release” when possible.

To find Wager’s Pond, take US 98 to County Road 93. Travel north to Sunset Drive and turn east to Bishop Trace, seven-tenths of a mile. Follow Bishop Trace north about seven-tenths of a mile and then turn east to Wager’s Pond, about 300 yards.
