ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — The Orange Beach Arts Center’s strong commitment to education through the arts will be the primary focus this summer. Three programs for children will be hosted by the Arts Center’s support organization, Friends of the Arts.
These high-quality, fun experiences are designed to strengthen a child’s imagination, and cognitive skills.
•Summer Arts Camp
On June 21-25, OBAC will hold the third annual Summer Arts Camp. It is going to be five fun-filled days of art experiences for the boys and girls.
Glass art, mosaics, painting, drama, dance and more will be offered.
This year the center has professional artists and educators coming to teach the classes.
In each session, children will have hands-on fun lessons. They will dance, sing, mold clay, fuse glass, play in pigments and draw.
This is the most anticipated week of the year at OBAC. Arts campers will begin at 9 each morning, and rotate their individualized schedule.
Camp is over at 3:15. Each day’s instruction will build on the day before as children learn and complete their projects.
The cost of the Summer Arts Camp is $120. Camp enrollment is very limited, so reserve your child’s place early.
•Art Stars
Beginning July 7, each child can be a part of Art Stars.
The class will meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon each day.
Art Stars is a weekly summer art class for children in 1st through 6th grades.
Each lesson will revolve around a great master. The class will work six different mediums, exploring the world of the masters, the music and literature of the time period.
The cost for this 6-week series is $100, with all supplies included.
•KinderArts
Monday mornings at the Arts Center are for pre-schoolers.
Beginning July 5, 4- and 5-year-olds can come to the newly renovated studio for KinderArts.
It is an art and music program design to ignite creativity in preschoolers.
Teachers will have a weekly music theme which inspires art projects.
Preschoolers will explore clay, paints, textiles and much more.
The course runs for six weeks, and costs $100.

OBAC is open 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays.
It is located at 26389 Canal Road, just west of the Orange Beach Library and before the Kids Park.
