The Orange Beach Fire Department will have its 45th annual barbecue from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Orange Beach Community Center on Canal Road, across the street from Fire Station 2.
A price of $8, for this you will get your choice of plate or two sandwiches. The plate includes a pound of chopped pork, baked beans, coleslaw, bread, sauce and a pickle.
At noon whole butts and bulk pork will be sold. Eat-in or drive through will be available.
To get tickets, call Jeri Wilson at 251-981-6166. Tickets will also be available at the door.
All proceeds raised will go toward providing the community with free CPR classes held twice a month at the fire department, fire prevention and public education programs for our local schools, daycares, churches, and senior groups.
The proceeds have helped pay for a state of the art radio and communication system and a training tower. The proceeds raised will help with plans and constructing of a training room/meeting room so that we have a conducive environment to train firefighters and the space for the community to have civic meetings.
This building will also serve the community as our local EMA command building and many other needs that benefit our community.
A few other Events that the proceeds benefit are the annual Halloween Carnival, annual Toys for Girls and Boys at Christmas. We will begin to cook 4,500 pounds of Boston Butts on our Black Dragon on Friday morning and finish on Saturday. The Ladies Auxiliary will be selling homemade baked goods including cookies, brownies, cakes, and pies. All items will be available at the drive thru as well.
