ORANGE BEACH, AL – The City of Orange Beach issued the following statement on spring break in the wake of Gulf Shores’ ban on alcohol on its beaches through April 17:

The City of Orange Beach appreciates our community, residents and businesses who are working hard to provide the best experiences for our guests this Spring Break 2016 season. As we reach the midpoint of the college spring break we continue to encourage our visitors to follow the law, abide by private property rules and to be good stewards of our beaches and natural resources.

The Orange Beach Police Department and Orange Beach Fire Department have been quite busy. We continue to encourage citizens to report illegal activities and those situations that cause disruption in the quality of life that Orange Beach is known for. Underage drinking has accounted for 80% of all arrests in the month of March. Police officers continue to be on high alert to address this issue in the highest efforts to keep people safe and protected. Beach patrols, traffic patrols, marine patrols and other operations will continue through this period and zero tolerance is a reality.

Please enjoy the Alabama Gulf Coast during this time and here is some advice to those coming to town: dispose of your trash, watch your noise levels, respect law enforcement, no glass on the beach, remove all chairs/tents/umbrellas nightly. Do these things and you will most definitely have a great experience in Orange Beach.
