ORANGE BEACH, Ala.  —Jeff Silvers held the winning raffle ticket for the Orange Beach Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary annual Beach Barbeque Basket raffle this year.

Each year in conjunction with the Orange Beach Fire and Rescue “Cookout on the Coast,” the ladies put together a fantastic basket of items with a beach/barbeque theme. This year’s basket was no exception and was valued at more than $300.

Items in the basket were donated or collected by the members of the auxiliary; the following business owners generously donated gift certificates: Sam’s; Villaggio Grill; and Meat Mart.

The second place winner was Elwanda deRouchment who received a $25 gift certificate from Geez Louise while Jae Cosby came in third with a $15 gift certificate from Original Oyster House.

The Orange Beach Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary is a group of local ladies dedicated to serving the community and citizens of Orange Beach through both charitable and volunteer work. Their main project is the annual “Christmas for Girls and Boys.” They meet on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Orange Beach Community Center and welcome any ladies in the area to join them and become a member. It is not necessary to be a fireman’s wife to join this friendly, hardworking group of ladies. For information, contact Linda Pacatte (981-7346).
