Orange Beach library sets 'writer's gymnasium'

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — If you are a certified literary genius (or a hopeful one) we request the honor of your company on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. for a writer’s Gymnasium.

We began this program as part of our adult summer reading series, and it was so popular among those who attended, I was asked right then and there to make it a regular program for all the writers here in Orange Beach. Who am I to argue with a fiercely creative public.

So what is writer’s “gym”? Simple. Whether you are working on the great American novel, the next Academy Award winning screenplay, song lyrics or greeting cards, Bring. Them. Here. Share your gift.

It is exercise for your gift, your talent. Everybody will have their own time, and it is yours. If you want feedback, we’ll provide it. If you don’t, that’s fine too. If you want to hear some of your words read aloud ... fantastic.

There is no right or wrong way to do this. We all wrassle with the muse, and this is an environment where it can be safe, supportive, and fun. Be fearless. Share your gift. This event is free and open to the public. Questions? Contact Seth Bowling at 251-981-2923. See you Saturday.
