ORANGE BEACH, AL - Worms, Butterflies, and Bees! Oh, my!

The first meeting of the Sustainability Club at the Orange Beach Public Library will be on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 4:30-5:30 pm. We will talk about what sustainability is and how it means different things to different people. We will also demonstrate how to do things like make a worm farm and make seeds grow by creating your own newspaper seedling pots.

The meeting on April 7, 2016 will include a tour of our new butterfly garden at the library! We will show you how to attract local butterflies with larval host plants and nectar plants. On our May 5th meeting, we will have Fred Nation speak about which native plants we can plant in our yards that will attract wildlife and bring nature home.

We will present many other topics on sustainability in the coming months including how to preserve food without electricity, zero waste living, herbal remedies, and organic gardening. Please join us on the first Thursday of every month at 4:30-5:30 for the next six months to learn how you can make a difference and help keep Orange Beach beautiful!
