Orange Beach residents choose Kennon

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — Chatter, laughter and hope filled the Bear Point Civic Association as Tony Kennon supporters awaited the verdict of the mayoral election.

With campaining peers, like Pattisue Carranza and Brett Holk, in attendance the anticipating  crowd talked of the future of Orange Beach government. Before the man of the hour could reach his party, the results were in and the room filled with cheer as Kennon was announced as the next mayor of Orange Beach.

Below are the unofficial results of the Orange Beach race.

Tony Kennon secured the mayor's seat with 1,181 votes; Larry Alexander received 841 votes; Iris Ethridge received 135 votes. For Place 2, Brett Holk recieved a majority of the votes with 1,830; Dan Maldet received 296 votes. Pattisue Carranza secured the Place 3 seat with 1,263 results; Al Bradley received 866 votes. Incumbent Jeff Silvers secured his Place 4 seat with 1,257 votes; Mike Hamilton received 488 votes; Anne Umphrey received 391 votes. Unofficially, 2,173 people voted.
