ORANGE BEACH, AL – A wide-ranging town hall meeting is set for Orange Beach on Oct. 20 at the Events Center at The Wharf.
Recently the city sent out about surveys asking citizens about what they expect out of city government on a variety of topics and received 1,400 responses.
The meeting will open with a council meeting at 6 p.m. and they go into the town hall discussion.
“It will be about the survey results, it will be about transportation possibilities,” Mayor Tony Kennon said. “Director (John) Cooper of ALDOT will hopefully be with us. It will be about the beach initiative and cleanup and beach overlay growth and what issues we may have going forward in the overlay district.”
Kennon said a big crowd could make big impression on state officials.
“I’d like to see about 2,000 people there to make an impression on Mr. Cooper that we have road issues and that we need his support,” Kennon said. “Please spread the word and get the word out so we have a house full at the Events Center.”
