Organizations invited to join county-wide Thanksgiving meals-on-wheels effort

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Church Street Café, its employees and families, along with several local food vendors and volunteers, will be providing a “meals on wheels” type lunch for Baldwin County residents who otherwise may not have a home-cooked meal on Thanksgiving Day.

“We, along with our volunteers, will be delivering Thanksgiving meals consisting of turkey, dressing, green-bean casserole, mashed potatoes, homemade bread and homemade dessert to individuals and families that have a need for this service,” a spokesperson stated. “We are working closely with local organizations, which include Catholic Social Services, Council for the Aged, The Hope Center, Ecumenical Ministries, Meals on Wheels in Fairhope and local churches to formulate a list of individuals and families that would be interested in receiving a Thanksgiving meal from Church Street Café.

“It is our goal to deliver at least 200 dinners to individuals and families in need. We invite any other organizations and churches in the area that would like to be included in our ‘meals on wheels’ Thanksgiving Day program.”
