FOLEY - The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 74th Annual Gala and Auction Friday, Jan. 26. It was a fun night that centered on a beautiful array of food provided by Executive Chef Ira Gallon of Wolf Bay Catering and spectacular auction items (benefiting the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation). The highlight of the night was the presentation for Volunteer, Small Business and Diplomat of the Year.

The Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Linda B. Spangrud, owner of Spangrud & Associates. This award recognizes someone who exhibits outstanding community leadership through integrity, professionalism, and volunteer projects. Linda has served on the board of the Chamber and served two years as Chairman of the Foundation Board. Linda can be found volunteering at every event and has been a top seller in the Chamber Choices Campaign for years. She also volunteers her time to several other organizations around Baldwin County making her a remarkable volunteer.

Design Print Promote was named this year’s Small Business of the Year. Tara McMeans opened Design Print Promote 10 years ago in Gulf Shores. Tara works tirelessly to provide the best prices and services for her clients. She also spends much of her time volunteering in her community and has a large influence in the education community. Tara is a perfect example of the Free Enterprise System and Baldwin County is lucky to have her as a dedicated small business owner.

The South Baldwin Chamber Diplomat Program is a group of professionals who wish to serve their local business community while honing their leadership skills and increasing professional networks. Diplomats work shifts at events, welcome new members and serve as overall ambassadors for the Chamber. The Diplomat of the Year was awarded to Elberta native Ryan Wood, Branch Manager for Alabama Credit Union in Foley. Ryan exceeded all Diplomat expectations and proved to be a tremendous asset to the Chamber and its membership. We look forward to seeing Ryan’s growth in the South Baldwin Community.
