Nora Rowell Padgett, 86, born April 26, 1921 in the Shady Hill Community near Andalusia, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007 after a short illness in Mobile, where she was a resident.
She was a registered nurse and was the RN supervisor at her retirement from the hospital in Bay Minette.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Marie Padgett, her husband, Herman Delmas Padgett, her parents, A.F. Rowell and Mattie Virginia Jordan Rowell, eight brothers and sisters, Edmond, Frank, James, Alline, Ethel, Flara, Myrtle, and Ruth.
Survivors include two children Kathy Padgett Pennington of Newport Beach, Calif., and Herman Delmas Padgett of Mobile; three grandchildren: Kristin Pennington of Los Angeles, Ryan Pennington of Hattiesburg, Miss., and William Pennington of Newport Beach, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives in and around the Andalusia area.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007 at Shady Hill Baptist Church in Andalusia.
