FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Page & Palette, 32 S. Section St. in Fairhope, will host the creators of “In Full Bloom” and “Easy Gardens of the South” on both Friday and Saturday. They will sign their books from 2–4 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday at the downtown bookstore.

“In Full Bloom” is the work of the members of the Montrose Garden Club, who previously published “Live Oaks & Gentle Folks.” The book is full of photographs and information on plants that are native to the delta, the bay and the beach.

Local artist Louise Estes also contributed several paintings for the books, including the cover illustration. Several club members will be on hand to sign copies of the books each day.

Sharing the author’s table will be Harvey Cotton with his “Easy Gardens of the South.” A Huntsville resident, Cotton is the chief operating officer  of the Huntsville Botanical Garden.

He collaborated with Pamela Crawford of Canton, Ga. and Barbara Pleasant of Floyd, Va.

The book features the annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees that best thrive in the tough Southern climate.

The concept for the book revolves around identifying plants that home gardeners may have the most success growing in their landscape based upon three factors: simplicity, colorful appearance and low water requirements.

Throughout the book, readers will find plants that can breeze through our hot, humid summers; withstand extreme droughts or periods of heavy rain; and attract butterflies, birds and hummingbirds — all while requiring minimal care.

With the purchase of either book, a ticket will be given for a free tour of the gardens of Bobby and Debra Green at Green’s Nurseries & Landscape Design, 415 N. Greeno Road, Fairhope.

Free parking will be available at the rear of the business.

The tour will be held on Saturday, 2–4 p.m. In case of rain, it will be held Sunday at the same time.
