About the Authors
Heather Hickox is fortunate enough to live in Fairhope with her husband, Patrick. They have two college-aged children, Hunter and Savannah, and a cat named Snicklefritz. Heather graduated from the University of South Alabama and works to support her book habit at Page & Palette bookstore in downtown Fairhope.
Illustrator Melissa Smith was introduced to Baldwin County by a true native. Through him she learned every story and backroad you can imagine. This intimate knowledge of land and area waters evolved into map making. After years of pen and ink work, Smith created a map of Mobile Bay followed by various other local maps. Smith is currently working on maps in South West Florida where she lives with cats, a bird, frogs and her son, Grigsby.
