DAPHNE, Ala.—Jan Palmer, principal at Daphne Elementary School, received the Outstanding Administrator in Reading Award from the Baldwin County Reading Council.
Palmer has been instrumental in guiding teachers in the improvement of reading instruction and helping them implement new strategies for developing reading skills in students, according to a school spokesperson who said that Daphne Elementary School students are benefiting from this success as reflected in students acquiring some of the highest achievement scores in Baldwin County.
Palmer has helped to develop tutoring and summer reading programs to further strengthen reading.
Palmer’s goal is to develop a rich learning environment for all students at Daphne Elementary School.
