Bessie Papas, 98, a native of Greece and resident of Daphne, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 at her home.
She was a member of Ladies Philoptochos Society, Board of Directors of Malbis Plantation, and the Malbis Memorial Foundation. She was the matriarch of Malbis Plantation for many years. She is loved and will be missed by all.
Survivors include her cousin, Alex Papas of Maryland, other cousins in Denver and three nieces in Greece.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept.14 at the Presentation of Theotokos Malbis Memorial Church. Trisagion service will be at 7p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15 at the Presentation of Theotokos Malbis Memorial Church. Interment will follow at Malbis Cemetery.
