Marvin K. “Tommy” Parker, 76, a native of Cherokee County and a resident of the Dyas community of Bay Minette, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley.

He was retired from Evergreen Transportation Company. He also worked for Baldwin Pole and Piling, where he was nominated to be Alabama Trucker of the Year. For 22 years he worked for Poole Truck Lines where he received an award for accident free driving and no freight claims. He was also a member of the Bay Minette Masonic Lodge #498 F.&A.M. and a member of Grace Fellowship Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Cravey Parker of Bay Minette; three sons, Tim (Brenda) Parker of Bay Minette, Kenny (Cheryl) Parker and Tom (Roxanne) Parker, all of Bay Minette; daughter, Becky Parker Ryan of Robertsdale; two sisters, Gladys Crane of Cherokee County and Lela (Richard) Wiggins of Childersburg; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 14 at Grace Fellowship Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Bobby Creps officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Dakota Parker, Kenny Parker Jr., Craig Parker, Randall Hulbert, Harold Parker and Brandon Parker.

Arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
