Roosevelt “Pat” Patrick, 103, born June 17, 1905 in rural Jefferson County, died peacefully in his sleep Dec. 29, 2008 at his home in Silverhill..
After retiring in 1970 from Electric Energy Inc. in Joppa, Ill., where he was personnel director, he moved to Foley.
His wife of 57 years, Alice Davis Patrick, died Dec. 27, 1985. Since her death, he had been living independently at his home, first in Robertsdale and then in Silverhill.
He was assisted in this by the care and support of his granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Domia and Tom Holley. After suffering a stroke, a year and half ago, he lived at home with full-time care.
Survivor include two sons, Harold Patrick of Peoria, Ariz., and Michael Patrick of Fairhope; daughter, Shirley of Moss Point, Miss.; six grandchildren, Deborah, Kelly, Kathryn, Shannon, Domia and Tracey; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of the Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 at Fairhope Unitarian Fellowship, 1150 Fairhope Ave. Friends and family are asked to come to share stories and listen to his favorite bluegrass music.
He is buried beside his wife in Pine Rest Memorial Gardens in Foley. Graveside services for the immediate family have been held.
