DAPHNE, Ala.— The Fourth of July may have already passed this year, but there are still two more patriotic holidays for residents to fly their American flags with pride. The Daphne Optimist Club is selling flag subscriptions for five national holidays each year as a fundraiser.

For $45, new subscribers will get a flag placed in their yard for Labor Day, Veterans Day and all five holidays in 2012. A yearly subscription is $35. Members of the Optimist Club will place a 3- by 5-foot flag on a 10-foot pole in front of subscribers’ homes before each holiday and come take the flags down shortly after each holiday.

The club plans to use the funds raised to support their programs for local youth.
