Paul Ellis Wyckoff

Paul Ellis Wyckoff, 91, a longtime resident of Fairhope and previously Montgomery, passed away Oct. 5, 2014.

Born March 20, 1923 in Auburn, N.Y., he attended Cortland State Teachers College before joining the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving as a pilot in the Pacific during World War II.

Following the war, he worked as a general contractor until his retirement took him to his love of outdoors, where he worked as a starter/marshall at Lakewood Golf Club until age 89.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Wyckoff; former wife, Louise Wyckoff Foreman; daughter, Beverly Wyckoff Wilson; and brothers, Robert and Ralph Wyckoff.

He is survived by daughters, Paula Wilson (Jack) of Fairhope and Patsy Allen (Merritt) of Lakeland, Fla.; stepson, Hank Robison (Jean) of Batesville, Miss.; brother, Allan Wyckoff of Auburn, N.Y.; sister, Eleanor Weston of Port Byron, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters.

A memorial service will be held at Fairhope United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at 10 a.m., with visitation from 9 a.m. until the service.
