Pearl “Pat” Porter Guarisco, 81, a longtime resident of Point Clear and Daphne and a 17-year resident of Birmingham, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 in Fairhope after a short illness.

She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and active in the Ladies Sodality and always supportive of many charities.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Wayne Porter of Point Clear; and Julian S. Guarisco of Daphne; and two brothers, Jack Holobaugh and Tide “T.Q.” Holobaugh.

Surivors include four children, Cynthia (Edwin) Ernest of Gatlinburg, Tenn., Paul W. (Irene) Porter III of Mobile, Dean (Renie) Porter of Fayettville, Ga., and Ruth Ellen Porter Martin of Daphne; four sisters, Betty Long, Renie Carlson, Sarah Parker and Martha Ruppert; 11 grandchildren and their spouses, 16 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 4 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Belforest Catholic Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School, P.O. Box 100, Chamberlain, SD, 57325, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
