Robertsdale Police are investigating a traffic accident Saturday afternoon that resulted in the death of a Wisconsin man.

Sgt. Rex Bishop with the Robertsdale Police Department said they have identified the victim as 54-year-old Michael Hoffman. Bishop said Hoffman’s last known address was Wisconsin, but he was reportedly homeless at the time of the incident.

Hoffman was walking with a bicycle southbound along Highway 59 near the intersection of County Road 48 when he was struck by a 1997 Pontiac Firebird, driven by Tawny Wilson, 43, of Orange Beach.

Robertsdale Police are not releasing any further details until a full investigation is conducted, Bishop said.

Once that is done, the case will be turned over to the Baldwin County Grand Jury to determine if charges need to be filed.
