The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon – cutting to mark the Grand Opening of Pen Air Credit Union located next to the Eastern Shore Centre shopping area, just off Interstate – 10, Exit 38. Hours of Operation are 9 a.m. – 6 p. m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday. The office features state-of-the-art service areas, one of the area’s first touch screen information centers and hand-scan technology personal storage boxes.
“Our membership is growing and expanding geographically, and we have to grow with it to serve our member-owners,” said Ron Fields, President/CEO of Pen Air FCU. “Our membership has been very good to us, and this shows that we appreciate them for choosing Pen Air to do their financial business.” Pen Air FCU has more than 100,000 members and 1,000 employee groups that it serves. The credit union has more than $1 billion in assets and, in December 2010, earned the BauerFincancial 5-Star Superior rating for the 80th consecutive quarter. This year, 2011, marks Pen Air FCU’s 75th anniversary. Pen Air is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial institution chartered in 1936 to serve civil service and military employees assigned to our military bases in the area, as well as their immediate families.
