Family Service Center of Bay Minette is in need of canned goods and monetary donations for their food pantry. For more information, call  937-7858.

St. Agatha’s Women’s Club’s Annual Salad Luncheon will be held Monday, August 23 from 11 a.m.– 2 p.m. in the parish hall, 1001 Hand Ave in Bay Minette.

The Hot Shop’s First Anniversary Party will be held Aug. 21, 6-9 p.m. Live demonstrations, raffles and music. The Hot Shop is located at 26389 Canal Road in Orange Beach. 251-981-2787.

Rabies Clinic The Baldwin County Animal Control Center located at 15050 County Road 49 in Summerdale on August 21,  from 10 a.m. to noon for a rabies vaccination clinic. Cost is $10 per vaccination.

Oil Spill Unemployment Workshop

Tuesday, August 24. 6 - 8 p.m. Gulf Shores United Methodist Church, 1900 Gulf Shores Parkway, South Campus Room 103.

The workshop covers: creating a skills-based resume, how to fill out a job application, how to prepare for an interview, how to set up a job search network, how to conduct an Internet job search, and benefits available through the Alabama Career Centers and other agencies. In small groups, materials can be covered, allowing for job search leads to be developed in class. A written evaluation is taken at the end of the workshop.

197th Anniversary of the Battle of Fort Mims will be re-enacted at Fort Mims Aug. 28-29. Event will include period demonstrations, live music, food, vendors and other entertainment.

The Baldwin County Junior Miss 2011 program, "Picture Perfect." Twenty-four Baldwin County senior girls will compete at the program, set for Aug. 28 at Faulkner State Community College’s Performing Arts Center in Bay Minette.

 Blue Mass A special Mass for all emergency responders will be held on September 10, 2010, at 12:10 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Mobile.

The Mass is offered yearly on or near “9-11” in remembrance of those who lost their lives in New York City, the Pentagon, and rural Pennsylvania in the 2001 attack.

Community Cleanup Day, hosted by the city of Fairhope, will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, 9.m. To noon, in conjunction with the Alabama Coastal Cleanup. Civic groups, churches, boy/girl scout troops, homeowner associations and/or individuals are invited to call and sign-up to participate.

Ms. Senior Baldwin County? Contestants must be Baldwin county residents, age 60 or over, be willing to participate in our pageant . Judging will consist of: interview, poise in an evening gown, philosophy of life, and performing talent. Prior pageant experience is not necessary.

The winner will receive a crown, banner, flowers and gift package, plus all expense paid trips to the state workshop and the Ms. Senior Alabama pageant in the spring of 2011.

Thomas Hospital 50th Anniversary Homecoming will be held Sunday, Sept. 19, 2-5 p.m. at the hospital on Greeno Road in Fairhope.

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) will hold a grassroots meeting, hosted by The Haven and the Baldwin County Humane Society (BARC!), to connect with area animal advocates on the topic of animal protection, possible legislation and public policy. This meeting will be held Sept. 23, 6-8 p.m., at the Fairhope Civic Center.

The C. F. Vigor High Class of 1975, is making plans for a Reunion Event to be held on December 11, 2010.
